Arsenal 2-1 Bournemouth: William Saliba rescues Arsenal in feisty contest
William Saliba salvaged a 2-1 victory for Premier League leaders Arsenal with another towering display at the Emirates Stadium.
Just three days on from his man-of-the-match showing in the victory over Tottenham, the French defender rifled home a loose ball 11 minutes from time after Bournemouth had fought back through Philip Billing's equaliser.
Gabriel Jesus had put Arsenal ahead inside 10 minutes and the hosts looked in complete control as they dominated possession in north London.
But the Cherries rallied and although Dominic Solanke missed a gilt-edged chance to equalise after the interval, Billing made no mistake when he headed in after 69 minutes.
Arsenal thought they had snatched a winner almost immediately through Martin Odegaard, only for VAR to rule the goal out after Jesus had strayed offside in the build-up.
However, Saliba would have the final say as he powered home his first Arsenal goal to make it five wins from five for the Gunners.
The result leaves Arsenal two points clear at the top of the table, while Bournemouth remain 12th despite a battling display at the Emirates.
