Dodgers Solve Yankees' Bullpen in 11th, Win 2-1
Slow Start, 11th Inning Heroics for Dodgers
Soto Injury Concerns for Yankees
After a scoreless 10 innings, the Los Angeles Dodgers finally broke through in the 11th against the New York Yankees' bullpen. Teoscar Hernández's two-run double proved to be the difference in a 2-1 Dodgers victory, snapping the Yankees' six-game winning streak.
The Dodgers had struggled to generate much offense against the Yankees' starters, but they were able to take advantage of some uncharacteristic wildness from the bullpen. Hernández's double came off Clarke Schmidt, who had allowed only one hit in his previous 3.1 innings.
The win improves the Dodgers to 40-25 on the season, while the Yankees fall to 45-20. However, the Yankees may have bigger concerns than just the loss, as outfielder Juan Soto left the game in the sixth inning with a hamstring injury. His status for the remainder of the series is uncertain.
