Nail Fashion: The Pros and Cons
The acrylic nail trend
I had flat ended acrylic nails for a while and I loved them because My natural nails are thin and soft. They would break easily and I was constantly having to file them down. With acrylic nails, I didn't have to worry about that. They were strong and durable, and they looked great. I could get any color or design I wanted, and they would last for weeks without chipping or peeling. Sadly, I found out that beneath my beautiful gel nails were my real nails which were very thin and weak.
The downside of acrylic nails
However, I eventually found out that acrylic nails can damage your natural nails. The chemicals in the acrylic can cause your nails to become thin and weak. They can also cause your nails to become discolored and brittle. If you wear acrylic nails for a long time, you may even lose your natural nails. I also started getting infections under my acrylic nails. They hurt so bad but the worst was having to remove them.
If you're thinking about getting acrylic nails, it's important to weigh the pros and cons carefully. They can be a great way to improve the appearance of your nails, but they can also come with some risks. I decided to take a break from acrylic nails, and I'm glad I did. My natural nails are now healthy and strong. I still get manicures, but I use regular polish instead of acrylic. I'm much happier with the results.
